Shades of Deep , Sweatbox Records’ second compilation focuses on the deeper side of music and the art of vibe building , regardless of the genre. The 8 tracks included are great dance floor builders meant to be played in earlier sets or as closing tunes.
Satoshi Fumi’s debut on the label brings a fresh approach to deep house and the dreamy, classic vocal sample in ‘Lovely Sensation’ ties up the melodies in a feel-good understated energy. Loco Dice’s remix of Mousse T’s ‘Toscana’ is reminiscing of the daytime parties in Detroit whereas Marco Loco’s ‘Good Morning’ makes a great after party closing track. Sabb’s ‘Motherlove’-solid and memorable adds unique drums and strings sequences . Fictiv’s ‘Le Mistere’ as the track name suggests it, adds a dose of melancholy accentuated by the sassy vocals and the layering of rhythms. Both Eva’s ‘Reborn’ as well as Circuitbreaker’s ‘ Natural Pattern’ shifts the focus from deeper rhythms to a more melodic approach without losing the essence .
